Open Soil Nutrient Datasets — Murcia, Spain

Siora publishes open-access soil nutrient maps for the Murcia region of Spain, built for agricultural research, land management, and geospatial analysis. The datasets cover five core soil parameters — nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic carbon, and pH — for 2000, 2010, and 2020.

Nutrient concentrations are estimated across the whole region from multispectral satellite observations combined with climate, terrain, geological, and soil reference data — no in-field sampling involved. Each dataset ships with a GeoTIFF nutrient map, a colourized PNG heatmap, and a preview thumbnail, all released under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0) — free to share and reuse with attribution.

Method summary

These maps come from Siora's calibrated spectral analysis pipeline: multispectral imagery is corrected for atmospheric and terrain effects, then combined with auxiliary topographic, climate, geological, and soil-texture data to cut down noise and sharpen predictions. The cleaned spectral signal is compared against nutrient-specific spectral signatures to estimate concentration pixel by pixel — a repeatable, scalable way to map nutrients across a whole region without physical sampling, and one that supports comparisons across time.
